Your words have already impacted so many, and to know this piece of who and what impacts the words for you will be something to honor when reading your work 🩷

Whitney sounds like she was one of a kind in the best way. Thank you for sharing what she meant to you. You are so right that grief is the last form of love. The missing, the hurt means that they mattered. We carry them in our hearts

Such a beautiful tribute to your friend, and thank you for sharing it with us. I was teary while reading it, thinking of my childhood friend who died too young and too suddenly at 30. Fuck cancer.

Whew you did it again, got me crying into my coffee this morning!

Thank you for sharing this (and sorry for your loss) and so much of yourself in your books!

Your stories are some of my favorites, and I think I have a better grasp of why now after reading this beautiful tribute to Whitney. Being able to capture someone’s essence through the weaving of their personality and quirks and traits in your stories I think is one of the most tender ways of keeping them present. Why do we love these fictional people so much? Because they resemble those we know and cherish deeply; reflections and echos of the family members and friends we hold closest. Whitney will live on, not just in your heart, but in all of ours, too, because you’ve shared her story with us both here and in your books. I look forward to continuing to learn more about her as you continue to knit her likeness into your characters. Thank you for giving us all the chance to love her even a fraction of how much you do.

Tarah, I’ve said it before and I’ve said it again, but thank you. Thank you for sharing this part of yourself and sharing Whitney with us when I know it would have been less painful if you hadn’t. We are better readers and therefore better people because of it, because you shared the hard things. Sending so much love and adoration your way- I know Silas and Bea will forever change me.

What a beautiful tribute to a beautiful friend and friendship. It's making me rethink the grieving I've pushed aside. Gladly went to pre-order a kindle copy and an indie signed copy. Thank you for sharing your heart with us!

Thank you for sharing her with us, Tarah. Saying sorry for your loss does not feel like enough. It was an honor to read your words just now and to see and feel the light your friendship shared. I will think of her during L&F and during any returning to trip to Spunes and honor your beautiful friendship 💜

Thank you for sharing Whitney with us. And thank you for sharing all of the beautiful and ugly shades of grief with us, too. No measure of time is ever enough with the people we share our hearts with, and Whitney was so lucky (I know this, even without knowing her) to have someone who loved her so deeply that the love is still pouring out of you now. This is a gorgeous tribute to her, and so is Spunes.
